Hawthorne brings to the surface issues of morality that pierce one’s heart and makes one question his/her very being. Yet I have always liked Hawthorne’s writings, for he digs deep into the human soul and brings to the surface the nasty tendencies that we all share as fallen humans. When thinking about this question, it surprises me that I chose this one as this particular work was the hardest for me to understand out of all the short stories we have read before. My favorite short story was “Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorne. ![]() ![]() Keladry (Kel) is a serious 10-year-old who - with the support of her noble family who have just moved back from the Yamani islands after 6 years serving as diplomats - is determined to become the first official female knight of the realm in over a 100 years. I haven’t read so many consecutive books in a series since the great Discworld binge of 2014. The Foreigner books are all above 400 pages, and my audiobook listening time for them has gone from 2 weeks each to 4-5 days/book, depending on how many walks I can take.
